The first-generation Honda NSX, sold in America as an Acura, holds a special place in sports car history, proving that everyday reliability and exotic performance weren’t mutually exclusive. At launch, it offered the kind of precision and balance that could challenge a Ferrari, but without any of the headaches.
These days, though, finding a clean example that hasn’t been thrashed or tinkered with is becoming increasingly rare. That’s what makes this particular 1991 model stand out.

Heading to Mecum’s Kissimmee auction this January, the 1991 Acura NSX has just 9,119 miles (6,115 km) on the clock and, remarkably, has only had one owner since new. Even better, it comes with the sought-after five-speed manual transmission, rather than the optional four-speed automatic offered at the time.
Painted black, it’s hard not to be a fan of this NSX. It remains completely original and still sits on the factory five-spoke silver alloy wheels with Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 all-season tires.
A True Garage Queen
Mecum Auctions
Mecum notes the car has been garaged for its entire life and the bodywork appears to be free of any significant damage. With a thorough cut and polish, it could be made to look almost brand new.
The interior also presents very well. The bucket-style seats and the lower part of the transmission tunnel and door panels are clad in Ivory-colored leather that looks to have stood up well to the test of time. The black dashboard looks to be in very good condition and is free of any significant cracks.
Although the listing doesn’t include details about the car’s service record, it’s a safe assumption that this NSX has been maintained with care.
Powered by a 3.0-liter naturally aspirated V6 delivering 270 hp, it’s a powertrain known for its durability as much as its rev-happy nature. It wouldn’t be surprising if the next owner chooses to preserve it as a low-mileage collectible, but let’s be honest, a car like this deserves to be driven.
If you’d like to add this NSX to your garage, be sure to head over to the Mecum listing over here for all the important details.
