BMW has added a suite of new in-car apps to its M-branded models, designed to deepen driver engagement and take full advantage of its latest operating system. The rollout begins with the iX3 fitted with the M Sport Package or M Sport Package Pro, with wider availability planned across the M lineup.

The updates bring a more interactive layer to BMW’s performance division, offering real-time feedback and personalized data visuals from behind the wheel.
These apps mark the first wave of digital enhancements tied specifically to the new BMW OS, and they’re tuned to the kind of driving experiences M owners tend to seek out.
Leading the pack is the M Cockpit app, which presents a detailed stream of dynamic vehicle data while driving. The readouts cover everything from chassis behavior to powertrain figures and geolocation stats.
Key information shown will include tire pressure and temperatures, live horsepower and torque figures, steering angle, elevation, and a G-meter. Drivers can tailor up to five custom dashboards, organizing the data that’s most relevant to their driving style.
Acceleration, Tracked and Tagged
A second app, called M Drag Meter, has also been introduced. While it’s purpose-built for the drag strip, expect it to see plenty of use in other settings. It records acceleration and deceleration metrics, even capturing driver reaction time from a standing start.
Like the M Cockpit, the Drag Meter’s interface is configurable, allowing drivers to select which values and speed intervals they want to track.
Also heading to new BMW M models is the M Channel app. This is a dedicated M in-car media channel that offers on-demand BMW M video content accessible through the central display. This app also includes several how-to videos, motorsport content, and different stories that customers can engage with.
BMW is also expanding the digital ecosystem beyond the car. Starting in Germany, owners of M models built from 2014 onward will gain access to the new BMW M Community within the My BMW App.
Through this platform, members can access exclusive partner offers, invitations to special events, and direct messaging with other M owners.
“The fascination with sporty and highly dynamic driving is what drives the BMW M brand,” vice president for brand, customers, and sales at BMW M GmbH, Sylvia Neubauer said.
“Our new BMW M in-car apps give drivers even deeper insight into their vehicle and expand the range of possible uses. This makes the joy of driving even more tangible in everyday life,” he added.
