• Jeep has introduced the new Gladiator Shadow Ops.
  • It’s based on the Rubicon and features a factory winch.
  • Package also includes steel bumpers and black graphics.

Jeep continues rolling out special editions and their latest is the 2026 Gladiator Shadow Ops. It’s based on the Rubicon and is notable for being the first midsize truck to have a factory-installed winch.

While it hasn’t shared many specifics yet, the included Warn winch is said to deliver “unmatched recovery capability.” It’s presumably the same one offered as a $1,995 option on the Wrangler Rubicon and this means we can expect a capacity of 8,000 lbs (3,629 kg).

Besides the winch, the special edition embraces the blackout trend as it sports a satin black grille as well as black graphics on the hood, fenders, and tailgate. They’re joined by black steel bumpers, which are a practical touch.

While black is the name of the game, this isn’t a traditional blackout model. Quite the opposite as the Shadow Ops comes with body-color fender flares and a body-color three-piece hardtop. Buyers will also find all-weather slush mats.

The special edition will arrive in February and cost an extra $4,995. However, Jeep noted the model is only $2,605 more expensive than a comparably equipped Rubicon with a body-color hardtop and body-color fender flares. That’s not too shabby considering you’re getting a factory-installed winch and some other extras.

Jeep’s New Special Edition Has Something No Other Midsize Truck Offers

The special edition will also be offered in Canada early next year, although pricing isn’t available at the moment.

While the latest special edition doesn’t bring much to the table, more are on the horizon. Jeep noted this is simply “Delivery #1” and there are more “mission-ready special editions” in the works. These promise to “embody strength, unity, and purpose.”
