- CEO Kuniskis teased more high-performance models coming.
- Ram’s 2027 TRX has 777 hp and hits 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
- It features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and AWD system.
While a number of people were hungover and regretting their decisions on New Year’s Day, Stellantis was busy introducing the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX. It’s billed as an “apex predator” and the model is out for Raptor blood.
However, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis hinted the story might not end there. Speaking at a preview event in December, the executive said the 777 hp (579 kW / 788 PS) pickup “hints at something else coming down the line.”

That’s rather intriguing and it implies SRT’s revival is just getting started. However, it remains unclear if Kuniskis was talking about a more powerful version of the TRX or something else entirely.
We’ll likely learn more in the coming months, but the TRX is notable for featuring a new supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. The latest version is significantly more powerful than its predecessor as it develops an additional 75 hp (56 kW / 76 PS) and 30 lb-ft (41 Nm) of torque. It also outguns the F-150 Raptor R by 57 hp (43 kW / 58 PS) and 40 lb-ft (54 Nm).

The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 118 mph (190 km/h). Those numbers are good enough to ensure the TRX is the “most powerful production street-legal gas half-ton pickup ever.”
Ram’s advantages don’t end there as the TRX starts at $99,995 before a $2,595 destination fee. While that’s not cheap, the model undercuts the Raptor R by $10,935.
