• Hyundai plans to grow its N lineup beyond seven global models.
  • Executives say only vehicles that make sense will earn N versions.
  • Smaller EVs and the i30 N may also play a role in future N plans.

Last year, Hyundai CEO José Muñoz revealed the company’s N lineup would expand to more than seven vehicles. The automaker believes this will enable them to sell more than 100,000 N models globally by 2030, and this could eventually pave the way to 200,000 units further down the road.

Fast forward to today and Hyundai Motor North America’s Senior Vice President of Product Planning and Mobility Strategy has provided a few more details. Speaking to The Drive, Olabisi Boyle said “We are expanding N. You will have more N models in three, four years.”

That’s a ways off and Boyle was tight-lipped on specifics. However, she suggested the company will only offer N versions of things that “make sense.” This implies Hyundai will continue being selective and won’t slap the N logo on every crossover they offer.

While customers probably shouldn’t get their hopes up for a Palisade N or Ioniq 9 N, there have been rumblings about a Tucson N. This would make a lot of sense as the Tucson is the company’s best-selling vehicle in America, where sales were up 14% last year to 234,230 units. It’s also worth noting Hyundai offered a Tucson Hybrid N-Line, but dropped it for 2026.

Hyundai’s N Lineup Will Look Very Different In Just A Few Years

In the near term, the Ioniq 6 N will come to America in “limited quantities” for 2026. The model celebrated its U.S. debut in Los Angeles last year and features a combined output of up to 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) with boost engaged.

Outside of America, there have been reports that the i30 N will return to Europe. We also wouldn’t be surprised to see N versions of the company’s upcoming small EVs.
