Now that Alpina has been fully embedded within BMW, the company has unveiled its first new model. If you were expecting something dramatic, perhaps a clean-sheet Alpina flagship, you may want to temper expectations. Instead, the debut arrives as a carefully curated version of the existing XB7, built exclusively for buyers in the US and Canada.

Officially badged the 2026 BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur, the model also marks the end of XB7 production at BMW’s plant in South Carolina. Only 120 examples will be built, each in the same specification and offered in either Frozen Alpina Green or Frozen Alpina Blue.

What Sets It Apart

Both matte finishes are paired with high-gloss black Shadowline accents and a set of substantial 23-inch forged 20-spoke wheels. Otherwise, the exterior remains largely familiar XB7 territory. There is a Manufaktur badge on the rear, Manufaktur scripts on the B-pillars, and a set of thin black accent lines stretching from the front quarter panels to the rear quarters.

A Cabin For Fit A King

Changes inside the cabin are subtle, but they do nudge the atmosphere further into luxury territory. Every XB7 Manufaktur is wrapped in Tartufo Full Merino leather and finished with Alpina Walnut Nature Black trim. Alpina scripts are embroidered into the headrests, black floor mats carry Alpina emblems, and a small plaque reminds occupants that this particular SUV is “1 of 120.”

As the XB7 is supposed to be almost the closest thing you can get to a private jet on wheels. To that end, the rear gets plush captain’s chairs designed for long distance comfort. Each example also comes with handmade leather carry bags.

How Fast Is It?

Mechanically, the Manufaktur version is identical to the regular XB7. That means BMW’s familiar 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 is still doing the heavy lifting, producing 631 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, assisted by a 48-volt starter-generator. Power flows to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, which is enough to push the large SUV to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds.

Beyond the engine, the hardware remains much the same. The SUV rides on air suspension with up to 3.2 inches of ride height adjustment, while stiffer rear axle bushings and rear axle steering help the sizeable machine feel more agile than you might expect from an SUV of this size.

There is also no temptation to spend extra money on options. Every BMW Alpina XB7 Manufaktur arrives in the same specification, with pricing starting at $180,000, plus $1,550 for destination and handling in the States.
