The new Ford Bronco is one of the most popular new vehicles released in recent memory. Dealers have struggled to get enough and customers have waited months for their vehicles. This 1968 Bronco has been masterfully restored, features more power than any new Bronco, and is up for sale.

From the moment you see this matte black Icon Bronco, it’s obvious that it’s not just any old horse. Icon is notorious for its incredible attention to detail and its outstanding Bronco restorations. This 1968 example is no different.

Under the hood is the same 5.0-liter Coyote V8 found in the current Mustang sports car and it makes 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Compare that to the most potent 2022 Ford Bronco and you’ll find that this old pony is far more potent. Of course, that might change whenever the Bronco Raptor makes it to production.

Power gets sent to all four wheels through a 4R70W four-speed automatic transmission and an Atlas 3.0 transfer case. Up front sits a Dana 44 axle and at the back there is a Dana 60. Each axle features ARB locking differentials, while the classic SUV also features a StopTech big brake kit and Fox remote reservoir shocks. These are serious performance parts that allow the Bronco to go way off-road. That’s also true for the BFG All-Terrain tires that are wrapped around 17-inch Hutchinson bead-lock capable wheels.

Moreover, at the front there is a WARN 9.5 XL winch. At the back are a spare tire and an auxiliary air system so that you can lower and raise tire pressures before and after an off-road adventure. Still, this isn’t just a pure off-road machine with no attention paid to the interior experience.

Amp Research power steps allow for easy access and a fairly modern cabin greets passengers. The seats have been refinished with matching black cloth and new switchgear features heavily from auxiliary switches to new shift knobs. Every inch of this Bronco looks special and stately. It’s going to be available at Barrett Jackson’s Scottsdale 2022 show starting January 27. We can’t wait to see what it sells for.
