• Ford employee given ‘the bird’ by Trump was reportedly suspended.
  • Two GoFundMe campaigns have raised over $800,000 for him.
  • The UAW said they’ll be looking out on behalf of the employee.

President Trump recently came under fire for apparently giving a Ford employee the finger and mouthing “F… you.” This came after TJ Sabula allegedly called him a “pedophile protector” in an apparent reference to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and his administration’s slow release of information related to the case.

Sabula was reportedly suspended in the wake of the incident. Ford hasn’t said much about the plant visit gone awry, but they’ve previously stated, “One of our core values is respect, and we don’t condone anyone saying anything inappropriate like that within our facilities. When that happens, we have a process to deal with it, but we don’t get into specific personnel matters.”

While the Blue Oval is staying tight-lipped and likely hoping the situation blows over, the UAW’s Laura Dickerson said they’ll “ensure that our member receives the full protection of all negotiated contract language safeguarding his job and his rights as a union member.”

She added that “workers should never be subjected to vulgar language or behavior by anyone – including the President of the United States.”

While the support has to be nice, it pales in comparison to two GoFundMe campaigns that have raised $811,010 for Sabula. One of these was reportedly started by a “longtime personal friend of the Sabula family,” but the fundraiser was ended/paused after it received $330,085.

The second was started by Sean Williams in South Carolina and it has raised $480,925. However, this one has been put on hold as GoFundMe said they’re “checking that it meets applicable laws and regulations” as well as follows their terms of service.

Assuming everything works out as intended, Sabula could end up with a pretty sizable payday and one that easily beats what Ford pays him.
