• The Venom F5 Roadster packs a 1,817 hp twin-turbo V8.
  • This example wears Banner Green and plenty of carbon fiber.
  • Hennessey plans to build only 30 F5 Roadster models.

The Hennessey Venom F5 stands among the most exotic cars currently being built in the United States, delivering true hypercar performance in extremely limited numbers. Yet while most buyers might be expected to hold onto something this exclusive for the long term, the owner of one F5 Roadster has already decided to move on.

This 2023 example is one of just 30 planned Roadster models and was acquired by the selling dealer from the original owner earlier this year. It has covered only 681 miles (1,095 km) and is finished in Banner Green, a shade more commonly associated with Lamborghinis than American-built hypercars.

Power comes courtesy of Hennessey’s phenomenal 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8, known as Fury. Using a cast-iron block, aluminum cylinder heads, titanium intake valves, and an Inconel exhaust, the F5 Roadster delivers 1,817 hp and 1,193 lb-ft (1,617 Nm) of torque. All of it is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed transmission.

Hennessey has long promoted the Venom F5 as theoretically capable of exceeding 300 mph (483 km/h), although testing so far has only taken it to 271.6 mph (437 km/h). Even so, its place among the fastest production cars on the planet is hard to dispute, which makes it little surprise that bidding has already climbed past $2.1 million.

There’s no word on what the original owner paid for the car, although most Venom F5s are believed to have sold for between $2 million and $3 million. Like the exterior, much of the interior is fashioned from lightweight carbon fiber, including the bucket seats, steering wheel, and steering column. Does it match the fit and finish of a Bugatti Chiron? No, but it definitely looks like a special place to sit.

So yes, it may not quite match a Bugatti for polish, but 1,817 hp tends to distract from minor details. Either way, this barely driven F5 Roadster is already hunting for its next owner. Curious? Go take a look at the listing over here and see where the bidding ends up.
