- Callaway just tuned Cadillac’s CT5-V Blackwing up to 780 horsepower.
- A bigger 3.0-liter supercharger does the heavy lifting under the hood.
- Both the manual and the automatic Blackwing qualify for the upgrade.
Cadillac’s CT5-V Blackwing already occupies a special place in today’s performance car landscape. It’s one of the last super sedans that still offers a supercharged V8, rear-wheel drive, and a proper six-speed manual transmission. For some enthusiasts, though, even the stock car’s 668 horsepower (498 kW) isn’t quite enough. That’s where Callaway comes in.

The Connecticut-based tuner has unveiled the new CT5-V Blackwing SC780, a limited-production version of Cadillac’s flagship sedan that raises output to a claimed 780 horsepower and 673 lb-ft (912 Nm) of torque. In other words, it’s adding 112 horsepower more and also just a bit of torque in the process. The package is available on both six-speed manual and automatic-equipped Blackwings, and production is already underway.
The heart of the upgrade is Callaway’s GenFour supercharger system. According to the company, the new 3.0-liter twin-screw blower offers 72 percent more displacement than the factory 1.74-liter unit. It’s paired with Callaway’s TripleCooled intercooler system, which is designed to reduce charge-air temperatures and help maintain performance under heavy use.
The package also includes a functional carbon-fiber hood scoop, carbon engine covers, Callaway badging, custom floor mats, door sill plates, key fobs, and an authenticity package.
Callaway says the SC780 package is backed by its own three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty and can be purchased through authorized Cadillac dealers. Existing CT5-V Blackwing owners can also have eligible vehicles transported to a Callaway facility for conversion.
Interestingly, Callaway’s approach is almost entirely focused on extracting more power from this already outstanding car. The underlying formula is relatively intact. That’s not always the case with these aftermarket warranty-supported builds. The result in this case is a sedan that produces more power than a BMW M5, Mercedes-AMG E 63, or Audi RS7. Most importantly, it manages to do so while offering a third pedal that those rivals don’t.
