• Brabus and Sunreef Yachts have unveiled the Ultima 55.

Brabus recently announced a collaboration with AB Yachts to unveil a new boat at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. However, that hasn’t stopped the tuning firm from teaming up with Sunreef Yachts to introduce the Brabus Ultima 55.

As the name suggests, the model is a 55.8-foot (17-meter) luxury catamaran that embraces the Brabus aesthetic. This sees the boat adopt a Graphite Black or Phantom Gray exterior with carbon fiber accents. The lightweight material is used on the front and rear wings, pillars, and vents as well as for the roof rack and roof light housings.

Elsewhere, there are illuminated Brabus logos and a stylish aft deck. The latter has large sunpads, which can be folded into “settees” to create a more upright seating arrangement. They’re joined by an extendable and retractable carbon fiber table as well as an electric barbecue and a wet bar. The exterior upholstery is custom-made and offered in Graphite, Red, or Pearl.

The interior is unsurprisingly elegant, featuring sofas and seats in Brabus Moonstone Masterpiece leather with triangular stitching. The boat also features Alcantara ceilings, wood veneers, and exposed carbon fiber throughout. Even the floor is fancy, as it incorporates aluminum accents and illuminated Brabus logos.

The Ultima 55 has height-adjustable tables and a fully equipped galley. The latter is home to an induction cooktop, an electric oven, a sink, refrigerators, ice makers, and integrated storage compartments. The model also has a Bowers & Wilkins audio system as well as a 43-inch TV that rises out of a countertop.

The Ultima 55 will be offered in two configurations, and the standard model has one master suite, one VIP stateroom, and one crew cabin. This provides enough room for four guests and a crew member. Customers can also opt for three less impressive guest cabins and one crew cabin, which bumps the guest capacity up to six.

Pictures show the cabins have a raised bed accessed by elegant wood steps. One cabin has a nearby couch, while the other has a sink and a restroom.

At the helm, there’s a control station with a widescreen navigation system that “brings together navigation data, vessel monitoring, and onboard functions in one centralized interface.” It features a dedicated Brabus design that promises intuitive operation.

Power is provided by two six-cylinder engines, each producing 715 hp (533 kW / 725 PS). They enable the boat to hit speeds in excess of 40 knots (46 mph / 74 km/h). The model also has a fuel capacity of 1,500 liters (396 gallons) and a water capacity of 330 liters (87 gallons), so extended excursions shouldn’t be a problem.

The companies noted the model has an advanced hydrofoil system, which “generates lift beneath the surface, raising the hulls higher above the water.” This reduces drag and increases comfort, while also “creating an exceptionally smooth, agile experience and the sensation of flying above the water.”
