Monterey Car Week is shaping up to be packed with debuts and we can add one more to that list as Gordon Murray Special Vehicles has announced plans to introduce a new supercar. Set to be unveiled on August 14 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the model promises to be one of the most “exclusive, lightweight, driver-focused supercars in the world.”
The lone teaser image the company put out bears a striking resemblance to the S1 LM that was introduced last year. Despite the similarities, we can see the upcoming model will have a unique front end with more traditional headlights.

Elsewhere, there’s a long windshield and pronounced front fenders. They’re joined by a classic supercar body that mixes elements from the F1 and S1 LM. We can also see a roof-mounted intake, NACA ducts in the doors, and a clean rear end that eschews a wing.
There’s no word on what powers the car, but the S1 LM used a 4.3-liter V12 engine that produced 710 hp (530 kW / 720 PS). It was connected to a six-speed manual, which enabled the 2,110 lb (957 kg) supercar to be an absolute rocket.

The S1 LM was limited to five units and the first model sold for $20,630,000 at auction. It sounds like the new model will also be extremely limited, but we’ll find out for sure on Friday.
The mysterious car will be joined by the Le Mans GTR, which is now a “fully operational development vehicle.” They’ll be joined by a handful of customer-owned T.50 supercars.
“I am looking forward to sharing our latest Special Vehicles creation with everyone attending The Quail and enthusiasts around the world,” said Gordon Murray, who added that the company has been “working on something very special” and that he “can’t wait for the covers to come off.”
