- The Skoda Slavia has received a mid-lifecycle update in India.
- It gains a new automatic gearbox, sharper looks and more tech.
- The updated subcompact sedan is priced from ₹9,99,900 ($10,400).
The Octavia might be the most popular sedan in the Skoda stable, but it’s not the only one. The smaller Skoda Slavia which has been on sale in India since late 2021, has received a facelift for 2026 keeping it fresh against rivals. Changes include a slightly sharper exterior design, new cabin technology and more premium features.
The updated model has gone on sale in the Indian market, following its debut in August 2026. The sedan is quite affordable, with the entry-level Slavia Classic 1.0 TSI manual trim starting from Rs 10 lakh ($10,400). Surprisingly, this is lower than the Rs 10.69 lakh launch price of the pre-facelifted model back in 2022.

On the other end of the spectrum, the flagship Slavia Monte Carlo 1.5 TSI DSG variant is priced from Rs 18.84 lakh ($19,500). Rivals of the model in the subcompact sedan segment include the closely-related VW Virtus, the Honda City, and the Hyundai Verna.
Mini Octavia Looks
Exterior changes are focused on the redesigned front bumper with cleaner intakes, revised LED graphics on the headlights and a new grille. The profile of the 4,552 mm (179.2 in) sedan is carried over with the exception of the new 16-inch alloy wheels.
The notchback-style rear end gains a black trim piece with Skoda lettering between the taillights, and new LED graphics with sequential indicators. Finally, the color palette includes the new Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige shades.

The flagship Monte Carlo trim is also included in the facelifted lineup of the Slavia. It is distinguished by the black 16-inch alloy wheels featuring red brake calipers, the red accents on the grille, the carbon-style exterior accents, the black roof, and the subtle aero add-ons.

The bodykit comprises a splitter, side skirt extensions, a tiny rear diffuser and a lip spoiler. Despite the sporty stance, the Slavia Monte Carlo doesn’t come with any chassis or performance upgrades. However, it gets an all-black interior with red inserts on the dashboard and contrasting stitching.
Nicer Interior, Carry-Over Powertrains
Inside the cabin, the facelift brought new trim, an incrementally larger 10.1-inch infotainment display with AI tech, and a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (up from 8 inches). Equipment improvements also include the addition of rear massaging seats, a 360-degree camera, and an upgraded A/C for faster cooling. The sedan comes standard with six airbags but it misses out on more sophisticated ADAS.

The Skoda Slavia shares the localized MQB-A0-IN platform with the Kushaq SUV and remains available with two non-electrified turbocharged gasoline powertrain options. The entry-level 1.0-liter TSI generates 114 hp (85 kW / 115 PS), and is paired to either a six-speed manual or a new eight-speed automatic replacing the old six-speed auto.
The 1.5-liter TSI produces 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and is exclusively mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic sending power to the front wheels. The more potent engine is now combined with rear disc brakes replacing the rear drums of the pre-facelifted model.
