Canadian racecar manufacturer Magnum Cars is not exactly a household name in the auto industry, but it has been around since 1968 building open-wheel formula racing models, and now, it wants to venture in the highly competitive and far more complex, may we add, street-legal car segment with a new vehicle dubbed the MK5.

Magnum, which has worked with the likes of Lotus, AGS, Larousse, Williams, and Renault, among other names, during the Canadian F1 GP weekends over the years, says that the development program for the MK5, including “extensive” track testing, has been completed and that the only thing left is for the company to reveal the car.

Teased here in a single picture and a video hiding under a black cover, the Magnum MK5 will make its world premiere on October 30, 2013.

The Canadian company says that the new offering “is both street-legal and track-focused” adding that it boasts, “racecar performance and supercar build quality and styling”. No other details have been released, but the teaser suggests that it will be an open top model.
