Following last week photos of a spiced up VW Golf GTI testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, a video of its laps on the iconic racetrack has surfaced online. The hardcore Golf GTI is rumored to be a more powerful Club Sport version that could bridge the gap between the standard Golf GTI and the mighty Golf R.
However, let’s not forget about the rumored Golf R Evo, which will reportedly be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in concept form.
The latter is said to ditch the rear seats and replace them with a roll cage, a feature the Golf GTI caught testing on the Nürburgring seems to have. Golf GTI Club Sport, Golf R Evo or both, one thing is clear: VW is preparing a hardcore hot-hatch, something enthusiasts won’t complain about.
