With the all-new Audi A4 looking mighty impressive (technically speaking), detailing an S Line version can only be described as a good idea. Especially since the car isn’t much of a looker.

I must admit, when I realized how many people actually thought that the B9 was yet (another) facelifted B8 model, I was shocked. I mean sure, I can’t say that I’m head over heels with it either, but still. All you need to do is look at it for more than a few seconds and you should be able to tell that it’s an all-new model.

Even so, I think everyone was expecting the new A4 to look a bit more…A8-ish, rather than A3 Sedan-ish. This is where Audi messed up, from an aesthetics perspective.

Technically, however, I’m loving everything I keep hearing about the car. Being 120 kg (260 lbs) lighter than the previous generation model is very impressive, as is that gorgeous interior that definitely looks better than what you get in the 3 Series. Heck, it might even be better than the C-Class interior.

When Audi say that something is “finished to an incredibly high standard”, you better stand up and listen because they’re not in the business of letting people down.

In terms of tech, you get Audi Connect, Audi Virtual Cockpit and plenty of driver assistance systems. The smartphone interface is pretty cool as well with full iOS & Android integration.

Overall, the all-new A4 should make for a terrific ownership experience.
