BMW CEO Harald Krueger said that the German company could slot a new model between the i3 and i8 models.

After several reports on the possible Tesla-fighting all-electric i5 sedan, the boss of BMW was asked if he was planning any new models by German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung and he said “There is space if you look at it from the number point of view”.

There have been many reports on the subject, suggesting that BMW is developing a full-electric sedan based on the next 5-Series to take on the Tesla Model S but Krueger said that he could not provide any further details.

And let’s not forget the latest report which said that Apple and BMW were about to collaborate, in order for the Bavarian maker to build an Apple version of the i3, known as the iCar. Krueger just confirmed that BMW is in regular contact with all the major tech companies, including Apple.
