This has to be one of the closest calls we’ve recently seen happen on an open Nurburgring day.

Nothing beats a summer lap on the legendary Nurburgring, as long as you are prepared for the heavy traffic that comes with it, as thousands of fellow petrolheads visit the Green Hell for their pilgrimage.

As you can see from the video posted below, an unlucky BMW M3 had an accident on a blind spot of the track with a VW Golf II and a Porsche 911 involved, making it really difficult for the cars that followed to react on time and reduce their speed.

The driver of the yellow Renault Megane RS performed a flawless slalom between the slowing cars and the wreck, avoiding an even bigger accident by a combination of sheer luck and skill.

Perhaps this sort of situations could be avoided if the track officials would put more marshalls on duty during busy days like these.

Stay alert and safe people. It’s been called ‘Green Hell’ for a reason.
