We all know BMW’s “i” brand is strong, but it seems that its unique eco nature could make it a standalone marque.

As a matter of fact, a showroom dedicated exclusively to BMW i branded cars has opened in Japan. We all know the Japanese have a thing for limited-edition, personalized Bimmers, but this construction further enhances the idea of “individualism”, as its committed only to a fraction of the entire BMW brand.

It’s called the BMW i Megacity Studio and it’s the only one of its kind… in the world. So, if you can make it past the fact it only exhibits two models – as BMW currently only offers two “i” branded cars: the i8 sports car and the i3 plug-in hybrid – the place is a pretty cool spot.

Moreover, the entire site was built following the eco-friendly identity of BMW’s green line, and it includes a solar-powered system – which harvests the sunlight through the solar panel covered ceiling in order to charge the BMW i3, while the surplus energy is used to power the showroom.

It also offers BMW i lifestyle accessories (whatever those are), test drives and a car sharing service – only available for the i3 model.

Oh, and it’s located in Tokyo’s Toranomon area – in case you want to visit.
