It turns out that some people have more than just a few reasons to be thankful on the fourth Thursday of November, which is kind of what we can take away from this video.

There’s nothing like spending quality time with family and friends, gathered around a table, stuffing your belly and talking (generally gossiping) about who knows what. When all that’s said and done, how about a ride in a 2.8 second Tesla Model S? Sounds like a plan to us!

Hopefully these people didn’t eat too much because that type of acceleration can certainly flip your mood around quickly. We’re talking 762 HP and more than enough pull to upset anyone’s stomach.

The standing start acceleration part starts off around the 1:48 min mark, which gives the owner plenty of time to show his guests the Tesla’s awesome touchscreen display as well as the Autopilot function. Still, to some people, it’s the P90D’s awesome launch that stands out more than any of its high-tech features.

The only issue we might have with the footage is that it kind of looks like more than 2.8 seconds from the moment the car is launched until the driver mentions hitting 60 mph (around 3.5 seconds). Obviously we should account for his reaction time in relaying the information to his passengers, but even so, it does raise suspicion since some people do say that the Model S isn’t quite as fast as advertised.

Still, let’s not take anything away from the flagship Model S, since it’s clearly one of the world’s fastest and most advanced automobiles.
