Next-Gen X3 Tipped To Join BMW’s “M” Line-Up

The 3-Series replacement will give birth to a new X3, which might take things to another level.

Despite BMW officials keeping quiet, for the first time their M Division might get its hands on the mid-size SUV.

Initial data indicates towards a possible use of the current M3/M4 powertrain. If that’s the case, the the alleged X3 M will be competing with Audi’s RS Q5 and a possible AMG version of the new GLC.

Spy photographers have already caught several prototypes of the new BMW X3, which is expected to hit the market in 2017 as a 2018MY, in North America, with an engine lineup that will include updated 2.0-liter four-pot and new 3.0-liter straight-six petrol and diesel units.
