Is Alfa Romeo’s Stelvio SUV Coming To The LA Auto Show?

Alfa Romeo plans to reveal its first ever SUV, the Stelvio, this autumn, possibly at the LA Auto Show.

The news comes from Motoring, quoting the Alfa and Maserati boss, Harald Wester, who said it will be introduced in late fall.

“We announced – and this is going to be presented I would say in one of the important auto shows in Autumn – a more compact SUV for Alfa Romeo and this is also part of the answer”,  said Wester.

While the Paris Auto Show also kicks off in the fall, the website believes that Wester was referring to the Los Angeles event.

Alfa Romeo’s Stelvio, the name of which was confirmed by Sergio Marchionne last month, will be underpinned by the same platform as the Giulia sedan. This means it will get the same set of turbocharged four-pot diesels and four-cylinder and V6  engines as the Giulia, with rear-wheel drive to likely be standard, while more expensive versions will be equipped with four-wheel drive. The range may also include a high-performance Quadrifoglio Verde model.

The only thing I like about this is the wheels. Everything else looks like it was designed in Seoul as opposed to Milan.

This is not from the same company that designed the 8C Competizione, the Spyder or the heart achingly beautiful 33 Stradale.

you are aware that that picture is a magazine’s render and it has no links to the real thing, right?

      • Six_Tymes

i am sure he is aware, that is why he said what he did. his point that you are missing is he doesn’t like the design and he explains why.

        • Markey

Well, if that’s what he meant I’d be 100% with him as I do not like that design either…
But given that he seem to imply that the design in question is from the same company that designed the 8C competizione and the spyder and the 33 stradale, i have to assume that I am not the one missing the point.

      I agree

First reveal this autumn? Based on Alfa’s typical timeline from presentation to showroom, prospective buyers should expect to get keys to one no earlier than the first quarter of 2019..

    The Subaru Tribeca reincarnated.

        Not really though.

      Not so much.

I gotta admit this rendering is attractive. Way more than the Giulia’s actual form.
