Longboarding on open roads sounds exciting, until you feel the other side of physics.
Shot probably somewhere in Russia, this dashcam video footage shows a young man riding his skateboard on a public road until a hard right turn brings him in front of a white Hyundai.
The force of impact is just scary, with the longboarder hitting the car pelvis-first. At least the car wasn’t speeding at the time as the driver was approaching a junction and had clear view of the young man coming hot.
Longboarders usually hit speeds of up to 80mph (130km/h) on their usual downhill runs, but this guy should consider himself lucky for not doing that much.
We really don’t know the extent of the man’s injuries but he sounds in a lot of pain, with the uploader saying that he suffered ‘only minor injuries’.
