The Italian company has released 360-degree footage of the range-topping 503hp Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde being driven rather enthusiastically around a track.

Powered by an all-new twin-turbo 503hp (510PS) 3.0-liter V6 mated to a good old-fashioned 6sp manual gearbox, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde is Alfa Romeo’s answer to the M3s and C63s of this world.

After all, this is a 190mph (306km/h) Alfa Romeo sedan, with the ability to reach 62mph (100km/h) from a standstill in 3.9 seconds. Other goodies include a Torque Vectoring system and an active aero front splitter, said to provide 220lbs / 100kg of downforce at top speed.

Alfa Romeo claims that the Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde has lapped the Nurburgring in 7:39.0, besting the time set by the standard BMW M4 by 13 seconds (7:52). That’s a very good first sign of the Giulia’s on-track capabilities but being fast and offering the feedback required by fans and petrolheads is two totally different things.

The video is probably our first chance of hearing the new Alfa stretching its legs properly but the sound quality in the videos isn’t ideal. In any case, the new V6 sounds growly enough, but we will need more material to make a final decision.
