Believe it or not, this car is expected to go on sale in China later this year; welcome, ladies and gentleman, to the BAIC Arcfox-7.

Looking like its ready to conquer the track (and probably your imagination), the vehicle was inspired by the single-seaters of Formula E. And like the vehicles that race in the “electrifying” competition, this too is battery-powered to offer incredible performance.

Powered by a 6.6kWh battery pack connected to a 603HP electric motor, the interesting looking supecar is BAIC’s halo vehicle, displayed at this year’s Beijing Auto Show. Although it weighs a hefty 1755kg (3,869 lbs), it can reportedly do 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds and achieve a maximum top speed of 260 Km/h (162 mph).

Braking power promises to be formidable as well, especially as the Arcfox-7 benefits from six-piston calipers at the front, and four piston calipers at the rear, mounted on ceramic brakes – elements which could signal a car’s true abilities around a track.

Nevertheless, all this performance-oriented power is mirrored on the 299 Km (186 miles) autonomy, which compared with the business standard is significantly low. But then again, you can’t have blistering performance and Tesla’s 508 Km (316 mile) range.
