This Is Likely The Facelifted 2017 Opel / Vauxhall Zafira Tourer

An interactive configurator believed to have been made for Opel’s German website, has provided us with the first interior and exterior imagery of the facelifted 2017 Zafirer Tourer, ahead of the minivan’s world premiere in Paris this fall.

The update comes five years after the introduction of the current generation Zafira that’s sold in Britain under the Vauxhall brand and at a time that SUV sales have heavily eroded the minivan segment, something that GM intends to address with a mid-size, family-friendly crossover replacement within the next two years.

For now and to keep the Zafira relevant, GM is giving the Zafira a lifeline with a mild refresh that includes some exterior and interior revisions.

On the outside, the front end gets newly styled headlamps, bumper and grille abandoning the boomerang accents and bringing it more in line with the latest Astra and Corsa, while the rest of the body appears to remain unchanged.

Inside, the 2017 Zafira gets a new dashboard with a more modern layout that includes a redesigned instrument panel and center console that incorporates a larger infotainment screen with less buttons. It should also get Opel’s new OnStar service along with added features like Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indication and the Forward Collision Alert with Collision Imminent Braking that debuted in the Astra. It doesn’t look like Opel made any other changes to the interior, so in all likelihood, it will retain the same space inside.

What the pictures don’t tell us is whether Opel will update the Zafira Tourer’s powertrains, but it shouldn’t be long before we find out.

Thanks to Mike for the tip!
