In the world of flagship super-saloons, the likes of the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Audi S8 can represent the very best in luxury and performance, along with a couple of their rivals of course.

These two however happen to be closely related. Though for any similarities they might share, we can point out quite a few differences as well. For starters, the Panamera Turbo comes with a 4.8-liter V8 unit, good for 520 PS and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

The S8 Plus on the other hand is powered by a smaller 4.0-liter V8, with 605 PS and also 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). While their torque output is identical, the Audi can peak sooner at 1,750 rpm to the Panamera’s 2,250 rpm.

In a straight line, the Panamera Turbo will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono pack, which is nearly identical to the S8 Plus’ 3.8 second sprint time. And sure enough, they’re both all-wheel drive models that also weight about the same, give or take roughly 20 kg (44 lbs) – in the Audi’s favor.

The video was filmed by Top Gear Poland and after seeing who wins, you might start to question whether or not they made a mistake when deciding on one of these cars.

Also, while the S8 Plus is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), the Panamera Turbo will go all the way to 305 km/h (189 mph), but this isn’t that type of drag race.
