BMW R NineT Pure & Racer Becon Us To Ride [136 Images]

We’re more inclined towards driving than riding, but if we were to jettison a couple of wheels, we’d likely gravitate towards something muscular yet classic like the BMW R nineT. As if it weren’t tempting enough a proposition on its own, though, BMW Motorrad has just wheeled out two new versions.

Following the introduction of the R nineT Scrambler last year, the new Pure and Racer models further extend the BMW Motorrad Heritage collection in two very different ways.

The R nineT Pure boils the motorbike down to the essentials, with flat gray paint, blacked-out suspension and drivetrain components, forged and anodized aluminum footpegs and fork bridges… and not much else.

The Racer, meanwhile, takes a different approach with its retro bodywork in white with BMW Motorsport stripes. It features a half-fairing, cowled seat, stubby handlebars, and footrests repositioned rearwards for a more aggressive riding position.

Both models are based on the same essential ingredients, so either way you’re looking at a 1,170cc engine rated at 110 horsepower, a modular frame ripe for customization, five-spoke 17-inch alloys, stainless steel exhaust, dual 320 mm front brake discs and ABS. What separates the two is their style, and you can check ’em out in the respective image galleries below.
