Euro NCAP gave the VW Tiguan the ‘Best In Class’ title in the small off-roader segment for 2016.

Back in June the VW Tiguan passed Euro NCAP’s demanding crash tests with flying colors, receiving a five star rating.

Euro NCAP test series takes into account for the final score the results of four sub-areas: proactive occupant protection system for children and adults, pedestrian protection and driver assistance systems.

In 2016, the European organization tightened its standards once again, introducing new child-size dummies as part of the testing equipment. The new VW Tiguan received an excellent result in occupant protection, both for adults and for children.

Other features that helped the Tiguan win the title of the safest model in the class include the active bonnet feature which helps reduce dangerous head injuries in the event of a collision with a pedestrian, the pedestrian monitoring and the Front Assist with City Emergency Braking system.
