Karma Revero Launched, Set To Arrive At Dealers This Week

Karma Automotive has officially launched the Revero nearly five years after its predecessor, the Fisker Karma, went out of production.

During a special “Delivery Day” celebration, nearly 800 employees gathered to watch the first Revero cars being loaded onto trucks at the Moreno Valley production facility in California. The trucks are headed to Karma dealers across the country and the first Revero models should be in showrooms later this week.

In a statement marking the event, Karma Chief Revenue Officer Jim Taylor said “Karma has moved from a product development company to an automotive manufacturer.” He added the company has “completed the critical steps to become a true luxury vehicle OEM” and stated the launch is “great accomplishment” for Karma and its team members.

As a refresher, the Karma Revero is a plug-in hybrid which features a 21.4 kWh lithium-ion battery and electric motors that develop 403 hp (408 PS) and 981 ft-lb (1,330 Nm) of torque. This enables the rear-wheel drive sedan to accelerate from 0-60 mph in as little as 5.4 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 125 mph (200 km/h). The car can travel up to 50 miles on electricity alone and up to 300 miles overall.

and they will sell as many as they did back in the day…. not many, if at all

    • T_Cake

      Still pretty, though.

      • Mind Synthetic

Got to say, that’s debatable. I made a comment before that I personally don’t see it ageing
well, already looks dated in my view.

        • T_Cake

Well, beauty is in the eye and all that. I’ve always thought that this was much sexier than the understated Tesla S. But we’ve all seen the sales numbers.

        • can also look dated to you because as a car guy, going often online, you know this design for a long time. The Tesla Model S was an old design when it came out, more classic you die. They just strated to be modern. The proportions are still those of a drawing.

          • Mind Synthetic

Model S has preserved far better than karma, it still fits into today’s car design very well. Karma just feels like a poorly executed student project that they rushed to production to wow the crowds. But yeah its in the eyes of the beholders

Too me it still looks very fresh and original. I’ve seen one in person outside of a hotel in my city and I loved it.

Original copy of Maserati design. The sides design is the same of Ghibli and Quattro porte…..

      • Skye

        Very pretty.

    • pcurve

Yep. I would be shocked if they sell more than couple hundred copies in a year.

  • TrevP

Soooooo this new car is the same as the old car from 5 years ago…nice.

    • But this time it should work as it should.

I’m not trying to bring my faith in here, but I serious prayed to God to keep this car alive.

    • T_Cake

      Praise be.

      • KidRed

I prayed it would get killed. Not sure where that leaves us…

Still looks great, after all these years.

    • Six_Tymes

      i agree. too many haters

  • Grumpy

    403 hp (408 PS) and 981 ft-lb (1,330 Nm) of torque and a 0 to 60 of 5.4?

    Seems slow for that output.

    • it’s an Hybrid, so it’s not all together all the time.

      • Grumpy

Not a conventional hybrid. It is similar to the Chevy volt rather than a Prius. The engine only recharges the batteries and the power only goes to the wheels through the electric motors. It’s the electric motors that put that much power down. The hybrid you speak of is a conventional hybrid where the electric motor assists the engine, in which case you are absolutely correct.

The car is also super heavy, over 5000 pounds I think. It looks great but frankly it can’t compete with its technology. I’d love to see them succeed with a good product but I can’t see how they are going to do any better than before with this car.

      • Grumpy

Probably is the weight, but i did expect it to faster with all that torque.
I’m very certain this will die out just like the last one.

and when do they go out of business again ?
