One lucky bidder drove away in this gorgeous BMW 1M Coupe over the weekend, after paying £42,750 ($56,157) at the SilverstoneAuctions event.

That’s almost as much as a new BMW M2, which starts from £45,750 ($60,098) in the United Kingdom, and features a more powerful 3.0-liter turbo’d mill that makes 370PS (365hp) and 465Nm (343lb-ft) of torque.

Built in 6,309 examples, out of which only 450 RHD models were destined for the UK market, the BMW 1M is considered to be one of the best BMW M cars ever. It’s so good that even Top Gear’s Chris Harris couldn’t resist buying one.

A 3.0-liter straight-six lump sits under the hood and makes 340PS (335hp) and 450Nm (332lb-ft) of torque, thus allowing it to reach 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.9 seconds, and a top speed electronically limited to 250km/h (155mph).

With 32,000 miles (51,499km) on the clock, this unit is finished in Valencia Orange and features a black leather interior with orange stitching. It was shipped to the United Kingdom in 2011, shortly after it left the factory, and features sat-nav, electric seats, and “lots of optional extras”, as the vendor describes it.
