Mitsubishi Shows More Of New e-Evolution Concept Ahead Of Tokyo

The legendary Evolution nameplate is about to return, as Mitsubishi planning to reveal the new electric e-Evolution Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The Japanese company released more info and a pair of teaser images about its incoming concept, which will preview a “high-performance all-electric crossover” that “combines the very best of Mitsubishi Motors technology with the go-anywhere flexibility of SUVs”.

The all-electric SUV Coupe concept will use three motors, one sitting at the front axle and the other two at the rear, which coupled with a new electronically-controlled torque vectoring Active Yaw Control unit for better and sharper handling.

According to Mitsubishi, the new e-Evolution’s brain will be an Artificial Intelligence system that can read changes in road and traffic conditions, as well as the driver’s intent, coordinating seamlessly the driver’s inputs with the vehicle’s performance. The AI system will also train the person behind the wheel to be a better driver through voice dialogue and the large dashboard display.

The new Mitsubishi e-Evolution concept will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 25, alongside the Eclipse Cross coupe SUV which will celebrate its Japanese debut.

So the driver basically operate a tricycle to drive it. lol
Seriously though, I like it, but I HATE the fact that they gonna call it the Evo. That’s not right.

Don’t worry, it’s just a concept. Mitsu isn’t dumb enough to actually push something like that out in production.

      • Spyderdrifter

Not dumb enough like the Eclipse-Cross being produced with the wrong name.. As much as I’d like to agree with you, I believe they are dumb enough. They have ruined their image with the true Mitsu fans.

        • LWOAP

Well in that case, it’s time to eat my own words. I knew they lost their way, but I didn’t think they would go out of their way to piss off every fan they had.

Excuse me while I grab the Sriracha.

That company has lost it.The next thing is to name a 9 seater suv, crossover or what ever they want as the GTO.Signs of our time, shame shame shame.

    Another concept for kids!

  • It combines the very best of Mitsubishi technology and the very worst of Mitsubishi design….

  • Dennis Scipio

When they said coupe SUV, I did not expect it to look like that at least from the side profile.

  • FlameWater

Are they bringing over the Taiwan 2018 lancer to NA?

  • LWOAP

I wasn’t expecting much. I’m glad to see it’s going to be even uglier than I could imagine.
