New Lincoln Nautilus Celebrated On Film

Lincoln have started changing the nomenclature of their models, with the first one to arrive with a new moniker being the updated MKX, aka Nautilus.

Unveiled at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, the premium midsize SUV is being celebrated on film, where the Ford-owned brand uses words such as “beauty meets serenity” to describe it.

Regardless if you’re a fan of its exterior design, with a front end that’s similar to the Lincoln Continental, new tail lamps joined together by a lights strip, and generously-sized wheels, the carmaker will start rolling out the first units next year, as it’s scheduled to arrive at dealers nationwide in mid-2018.

Customers can choose between the three distinctive exterior and interior themes, sold under the Black Label moniker, including the Chalet, Thoroughbred, and Gala, with the latest one being shown in the SUV’s official launch film.

Moreover, they will also have to decide whether the entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is the one to go for, with 245hp, or if the larger 2.7-liter unit, rated at 335hp, is the smart choice. Both of them are paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and get standard stop/start tech.

Enough already its a bad facelift on a MKX.

    • Frank Yoster

true that..if they gonna give it a new name…give it a new platform. They just pulled a 500 to Taurus.

    • Karl

It obviously got your attention for you to be here critiquing it!

    • emjayay

It’s a very good facelift and I expect sales will increase. But will the Nautilus be able to go 20,000 leagues under the sea?

  • Only good Ford is the F150…

    • baofe

Mustang GT350, Ford GT, Focus RS, Continental… point is there’s alot of good Fords out there

      • I forgot about the Mustang…so I stand corrected…the only good Fords are the F-150 and Mustang…

The Continental was never good. I don’t see it even trying to ride as smoothly as an S-class, so really it just looks like another 300c half-effort.

        • emjayay

The Continental is a size smaller than a Mercedes S class and costs half as much.

          • Status

Then it can’t possibly be good if they’ve made it half the price and smaller. It’s as simple as comparing name-brand goods with store brands; one is bought for quality and the other is bought for price.

Or, you know, covered in leather. Which it can be.

    Yes, let’s celebrate. Oh joy.

I for once think the old front end looked better on this car. The MKC on the other hand looks good with the Continental face.
