Video games like Gran Turismo Sport keep getting better and better – and the temptation to skip work greater and greater – as the developers release new additions every month. And as exceptional as some of the new virtual metal may be, August’s update to the PlayStation favorite is no exception.

Chief among them, as far as we’re concerned at least, are some highly alluring vintage racing Fords: namely the 1967 GT40 Mark IV and the ’64 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe – two of the finest racers America has ever produced, and ones we’re eager to get our hands on (in virtual reality if not in real life).

Right up there with them is the 1952 Bertone BAT 11 – a unique concept based on the Abarth 1500 Biposto. It’s joined by a modern 2009 Fiat 500 Abarth and the legendary ’91 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione, for fans of Italian hot hatches.

There’s also a 1965 Mini Cooper S, 1966 Volkswagen Beetle 1200, and a Honda S2000 GT1 Turbo customized by Amuse. And together with the freshly added cars, the programmers at Polyphony Digital have also included the Red Bull Ring – home to the Austrian Grand Prix, just outside of Graz where Magna Steyr produces the Mercedes G-Class, Jaguar I-Pace and E-Pace, and supplemental 5 Series sedans for BMW.

There are some new leagues and a smattering of other features added as well – all part of update 1.25. But if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be wasting our time this month virtually muscling some vintage metal and Italian hot hatches around the Austrian circuit. And you can check them out in the photos and videos below.
