Audi Plans To Launch 11 New And Restyled Models In 2019

Audi has been on a car launching spree lately and the brand’s display at the Paris Auto Show is a clear testament to this.

The Ingolstadt-based company brought the all-new A1 Sportback, Q3, A6 Avant, Q8 and e-tron to the French capital, along with the SQ2 and facelifted TT.

Surprisingly, the automaker will keep the momentum next year, too, as it has 11 new and restyled models in the pipeline. During a Q8 drive event in Spain, our friends from Periodismo del Motor saw a presentation of the 2019 launches.

Before delving into those debuts, there’s one more car still to come this year: the facelifted R8. While the exact date of the reveal is unknown, next month’s LA Auto Show looks like an ideal venue.

All-new A3 Sportback

Audi’s busy 2019 calendar will include the all-new A3 Sportback which will need to give Mercedes’ new A-Class a run for its money. The new compact will be based on the MQB platform and will offer four-cylinder engines ranging from 150 to 230 hp. It will also feature the brand’s latest design language and technology.

Facelifts for A4 and Q7

Moving on, the Audi A4 sedan and wagon are included in the list because they won’t arrive in dealerships until later this year. The first restyling since their launch in 2015 came this summer and brought subtle design and equipment updates.

Another facelifted model to debut in 2019 will be the Q7 SUV. The mid-cycle update should consist of minor styling and equipment changes. To keep up with the new Mercedes GLE and BMW X5, the Q7 might also get safety and assistance systems from the A8 and Q8. Finally, the introduction of mild hybrid diesel powertrains is almost certain.

S and RS models will complete the A6 and A7 families

We’ll also have three new members of the Audi A6 family coming up in 2019: the A6 Allroad, S6, and RS6 Avant. The former will get the usual jacked-up treatment and plastic body cladding, while the other two models will feature a 450-hp 2.9-liter TFSI V6 engine and a 605-hp 4.0-liter TFSI V8, respectively. The same engines will be used by the S7 Sportback and RS7 Sportback, also launching next year.

Audi e-tron Sportback

Although we’ve already seen it, the RS5 Sportback will not arrive on the market until next year, which is why it’s included in the list. Finally, the e-tron Sportback will debut in 2019 as the electric alternative to the Q8 and a sportier version of the e-tron.

Got work cut out for them give the new 3.

  • So will they cut the R8?

    • StrangerGP

Yep or have another go at a supercar e-tron.

      • Ahh yeah, I actually love that shooting brake concept, not sure if others do.

Just 11? What’s wrong? Slacking off, it appears.
