The previous Mercedes-Benz GLE was nothing more than a reworked ML-Class, with a few visual updates and other work made here and there.
But that’s not the case anymore, as the new generation is all-new. And it has the new Mercedes design language, new engines and, inside, that signature dual-screen layout called the Mercedes-Benz User Experience, or MBUX.
The 2019 GLE is also offered with up to seven seats, as an option. Nevertheless, space on the third row is just as one would it expect it to be, which is a bit cramped. Getting in and out isn’t easy either, due to the electrically operated second-row that’s not the fastest out there.

On the other hand, passengers will find the second row of seats quite spacious and suitable for up to three occupants, although the ideal number would be two. Boot space has also increased compared to the old GLE.
The interior build quality has really caught the eye of AutoExpress, who praised it in their review, mentioning that leather, aluminum and brushed wood trim is found pretty much everywhere inside, and that it feels more premium than BMW’s X5.
Even with the huge, 22-inch wheels, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE is a very comfortable cruiser, thanks to the air suspension. And with a few driving modes to choose from, finding the ideal setup shouldn’t be hard.
