With the new McLaren 720S in the spotlight, winning lots of drag races and and being subjected to numerous tuning jobs, sometimes it’s easy to forget that its predecessor, the 650S, is still one sweet ride.

Well, Race! South Africa, for one, haven’t forgotten about the previous Super Series model; quite the opposite.

Just by looking at the pictures released by the tuner it’s very easy to spot the upgrades. The 650S is fitted with a carbon fiber front end, sills and diffusers, ducktail spoiler and McLaren P1-like front bonnet. Underlining the upgrades are the red pinstripes and brake calipers.

The work has been rounded up by the Vossen alloy wheels. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear M-X3 forged set has a gloss black finish, which goes just perfect with other black glossy exterior parts of the car to contrast the white shade.

The South African tuning company seems to have ended all work here, as no interior or performance upgrades have been made to this 650S Spider. But with its twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 producing 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque, it’s not like it’s in dire need of more power.

Naught to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes 3.0 seconds, top speed is 329 km/h (204 mph), and on a good day, the British supercar can run the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds, at 222 km/h (138 mph).
