Nissan GT-R50 By Italdesign Shown Off To Middle East Customers

The limited-edition Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign has been shown off to prospective buyers in the Middle East at the Dubai Autodrome.

Nissan unveiled the heavily-modified GT-R50 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year. The car has since gone on a world tour that’s seen it displayed at Laguna Seca in California during the Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and the Nissan Crossing in Japan.

The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign was confirmed for series production in December 2018. The Japanese manufacturer will build just 50 examples with each one priced at €990,000 ($1.12 million) before taxes and optional extras.

Nissan has yet to say how many orders it’s secured or where the majority of customers come from, but we expect the Middle East to be one of the vehicle’s most important markets.

“Continuing our long and proud motorsport heritage in the Middle East, we are thrilled to bring the all-exclusive GT-R50 to customers and fans in the region,” regional vice president of Marketing and Sales for Nissan AMI and president of Nissan Middle East, Kalyana Sivagnanam said.

“The Nissan GT-R is one of the world’s most iconic supercars. The GT-R50 by Italdesign is the GT-R taken to the next level, with no compromise in performance, styling or craftsmanship. The GT-R50 is the perfect embodiment of the Nissan brand and an ultra-limited collector’s edition for true enthusiasts who want to own the very best Nissan has to offer.”

The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign stands out from the regular Japanese sports car thanks to its bespoke bodywork which includes an active rear wing.

In terms of power, the GT-R Nismo’s 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine has been upgraded with new internals and now pumps out 710 hp and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque.

Probably because they’ll only be in the Middle East. They have that kind of money to blow on something as useless yet hideous.

I can’t fathom justifying that much money on a kit GT-R with 700hp..

  • StrangerGP

It’s a shame they couldn’t build a proper GT-R successor based on this design.

    • Six_Tymes

good point. but why say “couldn’t”? they could and for all we know they might. 2020-22 will be launch window for a successor. of course that could change

  • Wandering_Spirit

As a lover of the GT-R. The rear is odd. The color combination, too. Maybe it’s my idiosyncrasy with gold

  • Six_Tymes

It sure is unique. I like it a lot

GT lovers seem to be short sighted or they hate to admit that everything Italy touches becomes a work of art…this is an amazing car and I was immediately drawn to it….that is until I found out it cost over a million dollars….but if I had the money, it would be a no-brainer…!!
