Woman Jumps Through Window To Prevent Thieves From Stealing Her Mercedes

Car thieves have been known to target people at gas stations, but one woman refused to be a victim.

According to WSB, a woman stopped at a Texaco gas station in College Park, Georgia to fill up her Mercedes.

As you can see in the video, another car pulls up alongside her vehicle. A passenger then quickly exits and makes a dash for the Mercedes.

The women saw this happen, so she jumped through the open passenger side window of her car. The thief wasn’t expecting this, so he quickly retreated to the getaway vehicle and sped away.

The station talked to the woman, who said she’s heard about these thefts in the past. As a result, she was paying attention and noticed something was off when the other car pulled up alongside her Mercedes.

She said “I didn’t have a chance to think,” other than “he’s not about to take my stuff.” The woman added it was “mind-blowing” that a person would attempt to steal her car while she was right next to it.

The woman’s face reportedly “got scraped” from jumping into the car, but she’s happy her quick thinking prevented the theft. Following the incident, she called police and they’re still searching for a suspect.

While these thefts happen pretty fast, there are a few things you can do to prevent becoming a victim. One of the most important is shutting off the engine and locking your doors while refueling. Drivers should also pay attention to their surrounding and never confront thieves, because your life is ultimately worth more than your car.

That is crazy. Good thing her window was rolled down.

  • Ben

That’s a good way to get kidnapped.

    • CBV2020

Unless she was the actual target vs her car, I highly doubt most theives would chance kidnapping anyone that displays such bravery, responsiveness and physical ability. More likely in other countries, certainly not Atlanta in the USA.

      • Ben

Criminals panic. Happens frequently. You know the “it was just a simple job…hit the register and get out” type deal that goes wrong when a variable is introduced.

    • vanquishvantage

or to get shot, i have to admit in place like college park im not even sure I would have taken the risk, and why didnt she also drive off if she was going to risk her life to stop a car jacker

  • dumblikeyou2

Women saves car then slams passenger door into barrier. News at 11.

    • matrem

It’s cheaper to replace a door than a car.

      • dumblikeyou2

You’re right. I forgot that it’s European so the market value would have been a crap compared to what she probably paid for what is most likely a previously leased vehicle.

  • Willzyx

There is a reason why they tell people to lock their vehicles when getting gas.

    • brn

I suppose with push button start, even taking the keys wouldn’t help.

      • CBV2020

If the keys are on your body, pushing the button will shut off the engine and the fob(censor) absence from the vehicle will prevent it from starting.

        • brn

Good to know. All my vehicles require inserting a key, so I’m a bit naive.

  • Callanish

It would not have ended well if I had to jump through a car window.

  • Bo Hanan

She’s not a small person so kudo’s for quick (cat like) reflexes.

  • ErnieB

This woman just created the next Olympic sport.. daaauuummm she did not just jump through the window.. she did a full split, somersaulted, back tucked, front tucked, did a few handsprings and landed it! I give her a perfect 10! Amazing skills! That would have scared the crap out of me too.

    • AND CHANGED THE RADIO STATION.

  • SteersUright

If you can drive a MB, cant you afford insurance for it? I’d never risk life and limb for any material thing.

    • ErnieB

Yup.. I would have let them take it. I would have had gap insurance to shield me from flying bullets..

      • benT

yes I find it much simpler to tippy toe around the walking bullets………

    • benT

personal stuff can be worth a LOT MORE than the car.

  • GOOD FOR HER.

  • jason wu

Did she leave the car engine running while getting gas?

    • Alx

      right. who does that!?

      • rodriguez256

My stepfather actually does that and idk why.

    • Bo Hanan

No. Likely keys in ignition and purse in car I assume.

  • BlackPegasus

I lock ALL doors when pumping fuel with windows rolled up! Pepper spray on the ready.

    • Silimarina

Jisus, is that the life in US?

      • dn12005

In the words of the esteemed Donald Rumsfeld, “There are known unknowns….’You don’t know what you don’t know'”.

The U.S. is a relative safe country, except for when it is not. It’s the when part that can catch people out. It’s best to always be prepared to decrease the risks of becoming a victim. My Captain Obvious moment is now over. 🙂

      • MultiKdizzle

It’s not the norm. Parts of it are dangerous.

The worst part is that all the criminals are heavily-armed thanks to widespread gun culture.

      • HaltestelleLuitpolthafen

“Jisus, is that the life in US?”

        Not in the least.

Every country in the world has rough areas, the US is no exception.

      • BlackPegasus

It’s the small price of freedom. I wouldn’t trade it for any other country.

        • Silimarina

I hate to brake your bubble, but Europe has just as much freedom as US, with less crimes

    • rodriguez256

Thankfully both my cars have the fuel filler on the left hand side. I also tend have my back to the pump and eyes on my car and the area around it.

  • rbennet27

    Insane jumping skill though.

  • Thunderbolt

The thieves seem to be doing pretty good for themselves, they were driving a nice Lexus. I would be robbing them instead.

    • Alx

when you say ‘doing pretty good for themselves’, you really mean ‘successfully stolen the Lexus’, right?

    • Maximilian Norlande Rabbitt

      *Camry

  • OSM CHAÎNE

And this is the americain dream WTF

  • Bash

I salute her. I hope someone got the plate number of the thieves car as well. Who knows what else they have done. And if not. They still have to spend some time behind the bars for this attempt.

  • Vassilis

    Badass

  • Eric

    Bo and Luke Duke approved!

  • nellydesign

Driving a likely stolen Lexus LS as well. Pretty brazen.

  • Maximilian Norlande Rabbitt

Not a an LS, that’s a Camry (yes I literally compared them)

  • Harry_Wild

    Criminals drive a black Lexus!

  • Sébastien

Because some pumps are literally on the streets, so if you park close to the pump how would you exit the car?

  • Six_Tymes

it happens more often in many other countries such as south Africa.
