In 2019, we thought we’d seen all that was available in the world of crazy vehicular mashups and engine swaps. However, this Chevrolet Camaro sitting on the chassis of a Hummer H1 takes things to new heights. Hoonigan AutoFocus recently had the opportunity to check it out up-close.

This crazy Chevrolet Camaro monster truck is the brainchild of Chris Highman and was created in just one month. Apparently, marrying the Camaro body to the H1 chassis wasn’t all that difficult but some serious mechanical modifications had to be made to make the car work.

For example, the vehicle features a rear-wheel steering system which means it can effectively crawl like a crab across the pavement. If you want, the car can be driven in all-wheel steering mode and perform absolutely perfect donuts. The all-wheel steering system also means it spins exceptionally fast and looks like an absolute hoot to drive.

In terms of power, the Camaro off-roader features an LS1 V8 engine with a 76 mm turbocharger and pumps out approximately 650 hp when running on E85. There’s even a nitrous system. What’s particularly impressive about the vehicle is that it is frequently pushed to its limits and driven through deep mud bogs, on dirt trails and tracks, and basically anywhere else where it can get a little dirty. The owner says he purchased basically every component for the build off Craigslist and says the entire creation probably only cost about $10,000.
