Flamenco Red BMW X4 M40i Puts On A Few AC Schnitzer Bits

The second-generation BMW X4 was designed to one-up its predecessor in every conceivable way.

Not only is it larger, but it also comes with a longer wheelbase, lower center of gravity and weighs some 110 lbs (49.8 kg) less. It also looks different enough thanks to a larger front grille, beefier headlights with adaptive LED tech, flatter roofline and fenders that appear more muscular.

For all intents and purposes, it looks a little more sporty than the first-generation X4, which means fitting it with a bunch of custom AC Schnitzer parts is a good choice if you’re the type of person who appreciates an aggressive-looking crossover.

Take this particular example, a recent resident of BMW’s Abu Dhabi showroom. Its exterior is drenched in Flamenco Red and features a custom front lip, roof spoiler and trunk-lid spoiler courtesy of the previously-mentioned tuner. Also new are the M Performance carbon mirrors, which add a little (and much needed) contrast.

There’s no indication of any performance mods being implemented here, but even in stock form, the X4 M40i is quite a capable crossover when it comes to straight line acceleration. Power comes from a 3.0-liter inline-six gasoline engine producing 355 HP (360 PS) and 365 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. That’s enough to get you from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds (or 4.8 seconds if you’re counting to 62 mph).

As for the interior, aside from the M Performance steering wheel, it’s all black leather with contrast red stitching and carbon-like inserts.
