Ford Performance is now offering new after-market suspension kits for the Ranger and F-150 pickup trucks that promise improved off-road performance.

Since the majority of the Ranger and F-150 trucks are sold with four-wheel drive, the automaker decided to cater to those who want to venture off-road by offering new leveling kits that bring additional ground clearance and Ford-optimised Fox shocks.

More specifically, the new suspension kits include a 2-inch lift for both axles, new aluminum Fox shock bodies, new front coilover springs and model-specific upper front mounts with polyurethane bushings to help isolate noise and vibration.

The new shocks were developed by Ford Performance and Fox, featuring unique internal valving for optimal performance both on- and off-road.

Ford Performance claims an approximate 21 percent increase in approach angle and a 10 percent increase in breakover angle for the Ranger, while an F-150 with the 145-inch wheelbase benefits from a 22 percent increase in approach angle and 7 percent increase in breakover angle.

“The elevated off-road geometry, paired with Ford Performance tuning, makes this a really unique offering,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories. “The secret sauce to this kit is in the Ford Performance tuning. This suspension and its tuning are designed to improve off-road handling and responsiveness, specifically for Ranger and F-150.”

The new suspension kits are available through Ford’s dealer network and are priced at $1,495 before installation. Compatible models are the four-wheel drive 2019 Ranger and 2015-2019MY F-150.
