Ford has issued recalls for 2020 Explorer, Escape, and 2019 F-Series Super Duty models in the United States.

The first recall involves 2020 Explorer models fitted with either the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or the 3.3-liter V6 engine. Both variants may feature improperly secured wiring harnesses that can rub against the air conditioner pulley and damage the wiring harness or the air conditioner pulley. The rubbing could also expose the wiring harness to an unfused circuit and trigger a short circuit or fire.

A total of 10,635 Explorers are involved in this recall and most remain at dealerships. Ford will secure the wiring harness and repair any damage of affected models, CNET reports.

The second recall impacts the 2020 Ford Escape, with it being added to a previous recall issued on August 30 regarding an improperly assembled recliner that may not adequately restrain a passenger in the event of a crash. This recall affects 9,350 Escape models as well as other F-150, F-Series Super Duty, old Explorer, 2020 Explorer, Expedition, and Lincoln Aviator models recalled in August.

Last but not least is a recall for the 2019 F-Series Super Duty, where vehicles may feature a passenger-side axle steel shaft that isn’t up to Ford’s standards. It is reported that this steel could fracture and lead to a loss of power in two-wheel drive mode and the inability to keep the truck in Park. This recall impacts a total of 28,549 pickups. The issue will be rectified with the fitment of replacement side axle shafts.
