“The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel offers the best torque and towing among all half-tone diesel trucks”, said the chief of the Ram brand, Reid Bigland. “Now, with a 10-year track record, the Ram brand has emerged as a truck powertrain technology leader. The all-new EcoDiesel engine and Ram 1500 eTorque mild-hybrid powertrains deliver outstanding fuel efficiency alternatives for our Ram 1500 customers.”

Powering the 1500 EcoDiesel is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that pushes out 260 horsepower (264 PS / 194 kW) at 3,600 rpm and 480 pound-feet (651 Nm) of torque at 1,600 rpm. Power is up 8 percent and torque up by 14 percent compared to the previous-gen EcoDiesel V6, which results in a towing capability of 12,560 pounds (5,697 kg). Thanks to the 33-gallon (125-liter) fuel tank, the truck offers a total driving range of more than 1,000 miles (1,609 km).

Produced at FCA’s facility in Ferrara, Italy, the 3.0-liter V6 diesel is also available in the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic crew cab, which has an MSRP of $39,140 for the two-wheel drive model, without destination. The 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel starts at $36,890 for the Tradesman Quad Cab 2WD. Pricing for the 2020 1500 range stretches between $31,895 and $53,615.
