With an unveiling confirmed for later this year, possibly as early as next month’s Geneva Auto Show, the new Porsche 911 Turbo has been spied in ‘S’ form.

Bar some black tape covering the corners of the taillights and the badges, the 992 Turbo S prototype is virtually undisguised providing us a clean look at the beefed up design compared to the regular 911 models, which includes a sportier body kit.

The 2020 911 Turbo S has more generous air intakes in the front bumper, wide hips with additional ventilation, different-shaped rear bumper and diffuser, and an active wing. When combined, all of these visual updates will make it more aerodynamic at high speeds.

We also catch a glimpse of the interior with the Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and a combination of leather and cloth upholstery on the sports seats.

As for performance, the new Turbo will certainly have the numbers on its side, with the plain model reportedly getting around 600 HP and the ‘Turbo S’, about 640 horsepower (650 PS / 478 kW) and 590 pound-feet (799 Nm) of torque produced by the 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six paired to an eight-speed DCT and all-wheel drive. The added power over its predecessor is rumored to help the ‘S’ model sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) in around 2.5 seconds and max out at 205 mph (330 km/h).

Rear-wheel steering is expected to be part of the package, alongside an active and sport suspension. Stopping power will come from carbon ceramic brakes, with 10-piston calipers and 16.5-inch (419 mm) discs at the front, and 8-piston calipers and 15.4-inch (391 mm) discs at the rear.
