The Discovery Channel has embraced petrolheads and they’ve given us an exclusive look at their upcoming show called DRIVEN.

Set to hit television screens on Monday, March 30, 2020, the show stars Galpin Motors President  Beau Boeckmann, custom car builder Dave Shuten and customization specialist “Mad Mike” Martin who is best known for his appearances on MTV’s Pimp My Ride.

While Galpin Auto Sports became the first dealership to ever design, build and sell a custom car, DRIVEN will focus on saving automotive history and rescuing “car culture from oblivion.” Over the course of the series, the trio will “uncover historic and one-of-a-kind cars to rebuild and reintroduce back into the automotive history books.”

They’ll be kicking off the series with a bang as the premiere episode will show Boeckmann and the crew resurrect a De Tomaso Pantera. However, this isn’t your ordinary Pantera as it’s a one-of-a-kind model that “Carroll Shelby hot-rodded for a secret project with Lee Iacocca.”

The Discovery Channel didn’t elaborate, but it’s apparently the same car that was sold at auction in 2018 for $226,240.  If that’s the case, it’s a 1987 Pantera GT5-S which ended up serving as a test bed for the development of the original Dodge Viper.

Of course, the show will also feature an assortment of other vehicles including the original Batmobile and a Messerschmitt KR200. We can also expect a handful of automotive oddities as well as plenty of obscure automotive history.

Besides that, Discovery says “the Galpin crew will take part in some of the biggest competitions, test their vehicles on the toughest tracks and unveil some of the craziest, most important cars to people around the world.”

DRIVEN will air Mondays at 9PM ET/PT time on the Discovery Channel. In the meantime, get a first taste of the show in the trailer below.
