A unique 1995 Lamborghini Diablo outfitted with an LS3 V8 engine from a Corvette is currently up for sale on Craigslist in Las Vegas.

The seller of the Italian exotic claims they once owned a V12-powered Diablo but decided to sell the car as commuting with it would slowly erode its value. Not willing to look at a slightly more practical car, the owner decided to instead purchase a fire-damaged Diablo and install a GM LS3-sourced V8 engine, one that’s much more reliable than the Diablo’s V12 as well as being much cheaper and easier to repair and maintain.

“Afterwards (8 years later) I felt so much better, no need to worry about expensive parts…if you can even get them,” says the owner of the car.

According to the owner, this V8 powerplant has been uprated to 550 hp, matching the output of a 2001 Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 with its big naturally-aspirated V12. Coupled to the LS3 is a Porsche 911 manual transmission, complete with a limited-slip differential which, presumably, sees power transmitted through the rear wheels.

In addition to performing an engine swap, the seller upgraded the supercar’s interior with heated seats, orange stitching, cup holders, and an aftermarket sound system. The car also sits on a set of Lamborghini Murcielago wheels.

“After completing the project took it on a road trip from Nevada to Colorado and back, it was finally nice to drive an Exotic without worries, best mileage was 23.8 mpg,” reads the ad on Craigslist. “I did add some creature comforts during the restoration, hidden cup holders and heated seats…probably the only Diablo out there that has them along with an incredible sound system.”

The listing reveals that the car has 11,632 miles (18,719 km) on the clock although it’s unclear if that is how far the car’s traveled with the V8 or if that’s the total mileage of the chassis. Either way, the $105,000 asking price seems rather reasonable considering all the work that has gone into the car.
