Many have been fighting boredom the best way they could these past few weeks as most countries are promoting social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Several automakers have come to the rescue with a generous proposal of paper templates, coloring books, board games and so on to help pass the time for petrol heads. But as Top Gear listed recently, there are other ways to make the time fly, so why not sit back and relax while taking a virtual tour of several car museums.

Henry Ford Museum

The Henry Ford Museum in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn is one of the most famous in the country. Before the pandemic, it received over 1.7 million visitors each year. It has a generous selection of vehicles, as well as trains, planes and others, and to visit it, you will have to click on this link.

Corvette Museum

If you’re a fan of what is arguably one of the most popular American sports cars in history, the Chevrolet Corvette, then you can spend as much as you want touring the 80 models on display at the Corvette Museum, and here’s the link to it.

McLaren Technology Center

Do you prefer something more contemporary that has an exotic flair? Perhaps the McLaren Technology Center, in Woking, England, could be what you were looking for. There are quite a few cars on display, from road-legal to full-blown racers, and you can start your virtual tour here.

Honda Collection Hall

Want to pay a visit to the Land of the Rising Sun? The Honda Collection Hall, in Motegi, Japan, has more than 300 products for you to delve into, with the display including the usual cars and motorcycles, as well as several racers.

Mercedes-Benz Museum

The first patented car belongs to Mercedes and dates back to 1886. It can be found in the Mercedes-Benz Museum, in Stuttgart, Germany, which should keep you glued to the screen for a few hours. The exhibition stretches to no less than 9 levels and has a lot of cars and racers, but be careful which one you fall for, because it might be worth millions in today’s market.

Enzo Ferrari Museum

The Museo Enzo Ferrari, as the Italians call it, is found in Modena (not to be confused with the one in Maranello), and it’s a must-visit for any car enthusiast. They can do so at this link from the comfort of their homes.

Lamborghini Museum

Do Lambos get your heart racing more than Ferraris? Well, the Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese is the place where you can admire the Miura, Countach, LM002 and others, in addition to the modern Huracan and Aventador.

Horacio Pagani Museum

Pagani doesn’t have a long history of making cars, but it does produce some of the finest exotics out there and it too has a museum that you can visit here.

Porsche Museum

For the Porsche Museum, you will have to return to Stuttgart and check out the generous display of cars, which also includes some iconic models from the past, as well as several concepts.
