While it’s been a while since we first laid our eyes on Alfa Romeo’s wild Giulia GTA and GTAm, this is one of the first independent video tours of the hardcore Italian sedan.

Alfa Romeo is currently presenting the new Giulia GTA and GTAm models to the media, which means that first-drive impressions are imminent too.

The Italian automaker has boosted the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6’s output to 532 HP (540 PS), a 30 HP increase over the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio. Both the Giulia GTA and GTAm are now capable of a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 3.6 seconds.

The chassis now has 50 mm wider tracks front and rear, with wider fenders at the front and a carbon lip at the rear covering the wider stance. The suspension uses new dampers, springs and bushings, while a new set of 20-inch center-lock wheels is also present.

The aero agenda has also been revised with a new front bumper which sports bigger air intakes, fatter side sills, and a prominent rear diffuser that also houses the new titanium exhaust tips in the center. Carbon fiber has been used extensively throughout the car, including the front bumper, bonnet, roof, front wheel arches, and rear wheel arch extensions, as well as the driveshafts and the bucket seats.

Top Gear takes us for the classic tour around the more aggressive Giulia GTAm, which goes as far as ditching the rear bench seat altogether in favor of a roll cage and helmet holders, as well as having the rear windows made out of Lexan and the windscreen made out of thinner glass.

The Giulia GTAm’s extensive diet makes it 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter than the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio, weighing in at 1,520 kg (3,350 lbs). Oh, and that massive rear wing is a GTAm exclusive.

Alfa Romeo will build just 500 examples of the Giulia GTA and GTAm combined, with each car accompanied by a branded helmet and racing overalls for the lucky owner. Prices are pretty steep, with the GTA costing 175,000 euros ($206k in current exchange rates) in Italy, and the GTAm starting from 180,000 euros ($212k) in its home market.
