Following the mid-cycle update given to the regular Giulia and Stelvio models, Alfa Romeo has now turned its attention to the Quadrifoglio high-performance variants.

As with the lesser models, the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio get subtle visual updates for the 2020MY in Europe accompanied by significant connectivity and safety upgrades.

First things first, you should know the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine remains untouched, delivering 510 PS (503 HP) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque to the rear wheels in the Giulia Quadrifoglio and all four wheels in the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (courtesy of the standard Q4 AWD system).

Both models continue to feature standard Alfa Active Torque Vectoring system and eight-speed automatic transmission. As before, the driving experience is enhanced by features such as the Alfa Active Suspension, Alfa DNA Pro selector with Race mode and Alfa Active Aero splitter on the Giulia. These systems are all coordinated in real time by the Alfa Chassis Domain Control (CDC) unit.

While the V6’s exciting sound continues to be filtered by a standard dual mode quad exhaust system, Alfa Romeo offers a new Akrapovič titanium exhaust with carbon fiber tailpipes as an option.

From a styling standpoint, the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio MY2020 add new LED taillights with dark lenses and a new glossy black finish on the front grille surrounds and rear badging. The Stelvio also gains 21-inch wheels (a first for a Quadrifoglio), while Mopar has also designed exclusive accessories including carbon fiber front grille with “V” insert, mirror caps and rear spoiler. New colors, including heritage hues, have also been introduced.

More significant changes take place in the cabin, where the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio gain new leather steering wheel and gear stick, updated center console with more storage space and enhanced styling, as well as optional red or green seat belts. Additionally, customers will be able to opt for new perforated upholstery with leather and Alcantara for the standard sports seats and available Sparco seats with optional carbon shell.

On-board technology has also been upgraded, with both models getting an all-new infotainment system with 8.8-inch central touchscreen display, connected services and a new interface design. Quadrifoglio models get an exclusive Performance Pages menu which shows the temperatures of the main mechanical components, torque delivery, turbo pressure and power used. Performance Pages also includes digital chronometers to measure acceleration and maximum speed.

Advanced driver assist systems also get a big upgrade as the Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio now offer Level 2 autonomous driving. Available tech includes Lane Keep Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition and Intelligent Speed Control, Traffic Jam Assist and Highway Assist, and Driver Attention Assist.

The facelifted Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio will go on sale in Europe this summer.
